I spent three weeks in Jordan studying the Super Intensive Levantine Arabic Program at Study Jordanian Arabic School, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience.
I had one-to-one lessons with my teacher, Ansam, and the classes were amazing. Having individual lessons made a huge difference because everything was tailored exactly to my level and goals. Ansam was incredibly patient, professional, and motivating. We focused heavily on speaking, which helped me gain confidence very quickly. The super intensive format was challenging, but in the best way possible – I could really see my progress week after week.
One of my favourite memories was visiting Habiba in Amman’s old town to try the best kunafa. It was honestly unforgettable! Sitting there after class, enjoying traditional sweets in the heart of the city, made the whole experience even more special.
I also really enjoyed meeting other internationals in Amman. There’s a great community of people studying, working, and volunteering, and it was easy to connect. We even went hiking around the Dead Sea, which was an incredible experience – the landscape is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
Another highlight was meeting Jordanian youth and having real conversations in Arabic. It helped me practise what I was learning in class and understand the culture more deeply.
My favourite daily spot, though, was having coffee in the garden across from Study Jordanian Arabic School. It became my regular place to relax after lessons, review vocabulary, and just enjoy the atmosphere of Jabal al-Luweibdeh.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend Study Jordanian Arabic School enough. The teaching quality, the cultural experiences, and the friendly environment made these three weeks truly unforgettable. — David Pitu, United Kingdom
